Marchers: 200
Years in Parade: 45 years

San Francisco Dykes on Bikes® Women's Motorcycle Contingent is an organization committed to creating a local, national and international community of women motorcyclists and friends of women motorcyclists. Our mission is to support philanthropic endeavors in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and women's communities, and to reach out to empower a community of diverse women through rides, charity events, Pride events and education.

In June of 1976 a small group of women rode at the front of the SF Pride parade. Four decades later we are celebrating the pride and courage those women had that morning as we remember the incredible history of the Dykes on Bikes® organization. It's a reminder that Public Health goes beyond conventional healthcare services, encompassing a comprehensive array of initiatives such as transportation, sexual health services, substance use disorder treatment and support, nicotine cessation, and more. The Northern California Furries (NorCal FURS) are a diverse group of individuals brought together by a common love of Anthropomorphic art and Entertainment. Many create art, stories, or elaborate costumes of creatures of their own design. So wherever you see furries expect much creativity and fun.

FURRIES are fans for anthropomorphic animals - that's animal characters who talk and act like people. Think Bugs Bunny or Disney's Zootopia. It includes werewolves and science fiction creatures, classic kid's books like The Wind in the Willows, or even ancient gods and fables. Furry fandom started in the 1980's with roots in comics and science fiction fandoms. Now they have a thriving grassroots subculture with their own social media and conventions around the world. Members pick animal species to represent their "fursonas", and share creativity with art and writing. But they may be most well known for fabulous mascot-like costuming. Their fursuits are custom-made and can cost several thousand dollars or even more for ones with special technology. A party full of cuddly animals can blow your mind. Hundreds of the Bay Area Furries throw monthly dances and go to street fairs and shows, and every year they draw thousands of people to San Jose's Fur Con. Besides all the fun, furry conventions raise money for animal rescues and charities. The group is for everybody, but surveys show the members are about 2/3 LGBT. Wherever you see the furries, you know that there will be lots of hugs and smiles.

The Bay Area Bi+ & Pan Network has hosted Bisexual+ events in the San Francisco Bay Area for the past 37 years. It uplifts local bi+ activism and community volunteers to ensure the bi/pan community is connected and visible. You can learn more about BABPN and our events on our website: babpn.org

Our contingent is the only bisexual+ contingent in the San Francisco Pride Parade. Bi+ is pronounced Bi Plus. We use “bisexual” and “bi+” as umbrella terms for people who recognize and honor their potential for sexual and emotional attraction to more than one gender (bisexual, pansexual, omnisexual, fluid, queer, asexual, and other free identifiers). We celebrate and affirm the diversity of identity and expression regardless of labels. It's a common misconception that people who identify as bisexual are only interested in the binary genders of male and female. This is untrue, and not how the bisexual community defines ourselves. We prefer the broader and simpler definition of “attraction to more than one gender.” We have used this internal community identifier since the 70s before the San Francisco's Bisexual Center was founded in 1976. Codified in the Bisexual Manifesto from "Anything That Moves: Beyond the Myths of Bisexuality" (1990) a publication of the Bay Area Bi+ & Pan Network (formerly the Bay Area Bisexual Network).
